Attention beer lovers, there might be yet another option for you to choose from when going out in Grand Rapids. The proposed microbrewery would be located at 2404 Eastern Ave. SE in the Alger Heights area. The brewery Brass Ring Brewing Company would be owned by Christopher Gibbons, a local attorney who has been brewing his own beer at home for over 10 years.
Gibbons bought the site at 2404 Eastern Ave, which was formerly The Dog King hot dog restaurant. He purchased the location for $154,500, according to Kent County public records.
The brewery which would roughly be 3,000 square feet, and would likely offer a small outdoor seating option and a food menu would be available. He plans to make beer using all-natural ingredients and without additives. Gibbons has decided to open this sooner than later, as it will be his retirement career.
Gibbons is eager for the ball to get rolling once the paperwork and approvals are all taken care of. He hopes to have the brewery up and running by September 2017.
